| 1. What is Problima? |
| a. Problima is a site that helps people with problems/questions connect with people who have solutions. People with problems get to have their questions answered and those offering solutions get paid for their solutions. |
| 2. Who should use Problima? |
| a. Two groups of people can benefit from Problima.
Those with questions and those with solutions. Those with questions can signup as users. Those who consider themselves experts within a field can sign up as solution providers to get paid for their solutions. |
| 3. What is the benefit to someone who brings problems or questions? |
| a. You can get your questions answered quickly from people more knowledgeable than you. The cost of a solution is very low at $1 (in most cases). You can ask questions that may seem trivial to someone but worth a lot to you. At such a low cost, you can arrive at a solution based on proposals from multiple providers. |
| 4. What is the benefit to someone who provides solutions? |
| a. If you register as a solution provider, you get paid $1 for each solution.
Problima charge a low 10% of the money you earn. This covers our cost of maintaining and operating the site. You get to keep a substantial chunk of your earnings. |
| 5. What is the cost of a solution? |
| a. Solution providers sign up within categories. They pick the categories that they feel they have expertise. The cost within a category is initially set at $1.
Note that, it is the users rating that determines the value of the solution provider (within a category). So someone with a PhD in a certain field might rate lower than someone else, who provides timely and useful information within a category. This gives the solution provider an incentive to provide high quality answers. Everyone benefits. |
| 6. Why are there two types of users in Problima? |
| a. The two types of users are Users and Solution Providers. Users sign up to ask questions/problems. Solution Providers sign up to answer them. You can be both by creating two separate accounts.
We created two types of users because we feel that the majority of people are interested in being one or the other but not both. As a result, we are able to provide functionality that better meets the need of any one type of user. |
| 7. How does a Solution Provider get paid? |
| a. Once a month we transfer funds using Pay Pal. If you have a minimum of $20 in your account, we will transfer the money to you. If you would rather accumulate your earnings. Let us know.
Problima charges a very low fee of 10% of the solution provider’s earnings. |
| 8. Do I need to have PayPal to use Problima? |
| a. It is easiest if you have PayPal but it is not necessary. You can pay using a credit card or by mailing a check.
If you are a solution provider, Pay Pal is the preferred method of transferring funds. You can also request funds by mailing a check but we ask that you accumulate a minimum of $50 before requesting a check. |
| 9. Is there a charge to the user when making deposits? |
| a. We only charge the user what Pay Pal charges us to transfer funds. The cost is 2.9% + $0.30 USD.
If you prefer, you can bypass this fee by mailing us a check. It will take longer but if you mail a larger check, it might be a while before you have to mail another. |
| 10. What is the minimum a user should maintain in his/her account? |
| a. Currently the minimum is $1. When your balance falls below this amount, you cannot submit a problem. You need to make a deposit every time your account falls to $1. |
| 11. How can I signup? |
| a. From the homepage, go to Register and follow instructions. You should decide first if you want to be a user (ask questions/problems) or a solution provider (propose solutions).
If you sign up as a user you need to make an initial deposit of $2.50 and maintain $1 at all times.
There is no minimum for Solution Providers but we prefer that they signup for a Pay Pal account. It is easier for us to transfer funds. But this is not necessary. |
